I grew up in Chengdu, a southwestern city
of China, in 1970's and 1980's. After achieving my first degree
in economics, I studied Photography in Beijing Film Academy
from 1997 to 1999 and graduated with bachelor degree. Back in
collage, I started taking photos as a freelance photographer
on documentary and news. In 1999, I joined Agence France-Presse
and moved to the chic and shining city of Shanghai. In the following seven years, I completed missions in Pakistan, Afghanistan, Kuala Lumpur, Melbourne, Iraq, Hanoi and most Chinese places, covering politics, war, breaking news, sports events, etc.
I married with Rachel Zhang Zheng on
November 26, 2003. Our son, Liu He, was born on June 28, 2004.
