Liu Jin was born in 1973 in China’s southwestern city of Chengdu and graduated from Beijing Film Academy in 1999.
He started his journalistic photography career in 1997 with Agence France-Presse (AFP) in China.
In 2008, Liu Jin won the Award of Excellence (Spot News) of the 66th Pictures of the Year International.
In September 2021, Liu Jin published his first book 《岩石與棕櫚樹》/“The Rock And The Palm Tree”, which features the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq from 2002 to 2009.
As of today, Liu Jin works as an artist and lives with his family in Austin, Texas and Shanghai, China.
